This trimester has gone by so fast and I've learned so much. I can't believe how much my skills have improved in 12 weeks. I've learned so much on Photoshop, the first day on Photoshop I was so lost and didn't know what I was doing. Now, I know mostly what I'm doing and have grown so much from the first Photoshop assignment. I remember the first time we went out and took pictures. It was for the composition assignment and they were the worst pictures I have taken. I had not taken pictures since last year in 8th grade multimedia so I was a little rusty. I think the composition assignment helped me get create and take pictures I would never have thought of taking. One of my favorite parts of this class was the photo assignments we had weekly. It was definitely hard picking which category to do but once I did I had so many ideas of what pictures to take. My favorite photo assignment was probably my first one. I took pictures of my friend Emily and I love taking pictures of people and expressing there emotions.(Below is my favorite picture from the shoot). I can't believe how far I've come and what pictures I have taken. I can't wait to take more pictures and hope to get even better after taking this class. My skills have become so much better that the first day and I'm thinking more and more about being creative about my pictures. I feel very inspired to go out and take pictures just whenever I can.

I learned that it takes many tries to get a motion blurred picture. It is so hard to get the subject all in focus and get the background blurred. It took several tries to get this picture.
For this weeks photography assignment, I decided to take pictures of still life but when it was darker outside. I thought the pictures would look cooler and not be as distracting if it was darker outside but little did I know it kind of messed up the white balance of some pictures. I learned that it is better to take pictures during the day then when the sun is setting and it's getting darker. Exposure Triangle:
I did not edit this picture it came straight out of the camera. In this assignment, we took pictures with studio lighting and window lighting. We learned how to resize photos and frame a picture.
In this assignment, I decided to take pictures of food. My dad and grandparents that morning went to Zingermans' in Ann Arbor and got some food. I learned that it is kinda hard to take pictures of the food and not be tempted to eat it, but also I learned that it is kinda hard to tell a story with just taking pictures of food. For editing in this picture, I turned the vibrance down 39. For this assignment, we learned how to stack photos and more about masking layers. We had to take pictures of someone or ourselves and put them all together to make one picture. You had to use creativity and see what you could come up with.
For this assignment, we took a picture that we took of the school and and made it halloween theme. We took photos from google and edited them into our school photo to make them spooky and this is how my picture turned out.
In this assignment, I decided to focus on Architecture. We were driving around Ann Arbor and I decided to take pictures of a farm and the Colonnade. I learned that it is kind of hard to take pictures of architecture in an area with not much architecture. Exposure Triangle:
For editing this picture, I turned the saturation down all the way. In this assignment, we took pictures and put them together to make panoramic photos. We had to take pictures and then "stitch" the together in photoshop. I learned that taking pictures and stitching them together can be harder than you think. Your tripod has to be super still and cant move at all, if it does it messes up the whole picture. The same thing goes for the camera, if you accidentally tilt it up and down a little it messes up the whole picture. For this weeks photography assignment, I decided to focus on macro. I learned that you can see more then you think when you get close to something. I also struggled because the closer I got to anything the harder it was to focus the camera. Exposure Triangle:
This picture is straight out of the camera and I did not edit it in Lightroom at all. |
